Local Attractions

OLD WARDOUR CASTLE

Built in the 14th century, Old Wardour Castle remains a popular destination for visitors in the Tisbury area. The castle was built as a lightly fortified luxury residence for lavish entertainment and comfortable living. Enjoy the fantastic views from the turrets and of the beautiful landscaped grounds. This English Heritage site proves a great day out for families, couples, photographers or budding historians.

AQUA SANA LONGLEAT FOREST

The spa is nestled in the beautiful Longleat Estate in Wiltshire which is just a 20 minute drive away from our hotel, meaning you don’t have to venture far to find a full day of relaxation. Guests are welcomed to enjoy a wide range of beauty treatments, rest zones and even an aqua meditation room. The spa is surrounded by beautiful woodland, providing the ideal retreat for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

LONGLEAT

This winter, stunning Chinese lanterns will light up Longleat once more and bring to life the magic of storytelling. Drawing inspiration from classic tales, you will be transported into a world of fantasy. Even though it’s a bit chilly you can still experience the world famous Safari Drive. Lots of animals will still be out and about and if you keep your eyes peeled you might even see some different behaviour to those they would display during the rest of the year.

GOLD HILL MUSEUM

At the top of the very beautiful Gold Hill, sits the equally beautiful Gold Hill Museum, Shaftesbury and District’s local history museum. This modern museum is set in two historic buildings, from here guests will see wonderful views over Thomas Hardy’s Blackmore Vale along with an award-winning garden. Throughout the Winter months, Gold Hill Museum offers a series of monthly lectures for the public and local history society.
